When Warner Brothers and NetherRealm’s record setting Mortal Kombat 11 added a new SKU and Story Expansion, PETROL stepped up to provide striking key visuals that highlight beloved franchise icons while stepping out of the traditional Mortal Kombat aesthetic. For Ultimate, we used the bold yellow of the package’s Hero character, Scorpion to create a piece that stands out against competition in the marketplace. This remained true with Aftermath where we continued our use of a warm, brighter yellow to juxtapose against the power of the protagonists of the expansion.
